UHC Delays April 1st Z-Code Commercial Implementation to June 1, 2024
April 2, 2024As the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) reported last week, UnitedHealthcare (UHC) has given notification that it is delaying its DEX Z-code commercial implementation initially scheduled for April 1, 2024. In its April 2024 Commercial Reimbursement Policy Update Bulletin, UHC indicated the implementation has been pushed to June 1, 2024 to “allow additional time for providers to integrate Z-codes into their claims processes.” Questions regarding the delay or requests for additional information should be directed to united_genetics@uhc.com. Impacted laboratories that need help can contact UHC at the same email address for additional support.
This is not the first time UHC has delayed implementation of the Z-code requirements; most recently, UHC pushed the deadline from late 2023 to April 2024.
