Claims Reprocessing for Procedure Code 84443

TMHP has identified an issue that affects claims submitted by laboratory providers with dates of service on or after April 2, 2007, and procedure code 84443. Claims with dates of service on or after April 2, 2007, may have been denied in error. According to CLIA guidelines, procedure code 84443 must be billed with the QW modifier to be considered a waived CLIA test for providers with laboratory certificate types 2 and 4.
